We source locally.
Our logs come from responsible and sustainable timber harvests that are conducted throughout the area. We choose to use of some of the best hardwoods such as Oak, Maple, Beech, and Hickory, due to their lower moisture content and density allowing them to burn longer and warmer.
Simple and effective.
Hardwood logs are loaded onto our firewood processor, which is a machine that cuts, splits, and conveys the wood into piles. All of our firewood is cut at 16,” and is run through a 10-way wedge, meaning every piece of wood is split ten ways producing manageable pieces of wood. Each pile will be seasoned for at least a year making sure it is adequately prepared for you.
We even clean it before we deliver it.
Once fully seasoned, and before delivery, we run our firewood through a tumbler, which removes most of the dirt and debris. Our process from start to finish ensures you are receiving the highest-quality seasoned firewood, with very little mess and clean up after delivery.

Established in 1973, as Pittsford Woods Firewood, former owner Mike Rose, had one goal in mind – to serve the Monroe County area with the highest-quality firewood. This goal continues to be the center value of Pittsford Firewood, which is now owned and operated by Scottie Hatch. Purchasing the business in 2017, Scottie strives to maintain the former reputation of Pittsford Woods Firewood that’s been built over 40 years, delivering the best firewood and experience for his customers. Scottie has been working in the firewood business for over seven years, is an experienced business owner, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Forest Resource Management.
